Hello Nicole,
I am currently employed by DoD, as a Financial Resource Mgr, and my office is encouraging all 13's and above to take the CDFM exam. The ASMC requires 2yrs DoD experience if I am not mistaking before they will issue a certification certificate. As I will have 2yrs in April, I would like to start preparing for the exam. I have taken the computerized CPA exam so I am familier with the format. My question is #1) how to start preparing? Are there any prep classes? #2) Is there any recommend sequence to take the modules?

I forgot to mention that I am currently taking ACCT610 - Financial Accounting. I am enrolled in the MSM-ACCT track. My career goal is to go as far as possible. I am more of a SME (subject matter expert) in that I can work independently or as part of a group. I would closely with the GG-14's in my office and hope to be a Team Lead by the end of next year. _________________ cyn |

Hi Cynthia,
Good questions.
USDA Grad school offers the Enhanced CDFM Training course. I believe it is a week long and does a great job in prepping you for the CDFM. They give you study materials and sources for other information.
It doesn't matter which order you take the modules.
I scheduled 1 module each week. That gave me a week of intense study before each test.
I would also take the test not too long after you take the training class. The more time that passes, the more you will forget.
Good Luck. |
