IMPORTANT INFORMATION
As you prepare for entry into the accounting or CPA profession, it is important that you also learn about the resources available to you, and that you begin to network with others in the profession. To help you accomplish this, the professional associations have developed student memberships and programs for students. To enable you to take advantage of some of these, the links below will take you to the student areas.

1) Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA) For those of you who are Maryland residents, this is your state association. Student membership is FREE. To learn more and to submit an application, please go to http://www.tomorrowscpa.org/college/studentapp_college.html

2) American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) This is the national association of CPAs. Student membership is $35 annually. To learn more and to submit an application, please go to http://www.aicpa.org/About+the+AICPA/Membership+Information/Membership+Categories+and+Benefits+and+Requirements.htm

3) Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) For those considering a career path in audit or fraud, you might consider this association. Student membership is $25/year. Please note that we have arranged for UMUC graduate students to qualify for a student membership if they are carrying at least 6 credits. To join, please print out the student membership application, complete it and send it no later than July 1, along with a check payable to ACFE for $25, to
